Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG)

We are committed to educating our children, families and employees on the importance of being environmentally and socially responsible.

While our Board is ultimately accountable for Nido’s ESG policies and procedures, we have both dedicated and passionate employees and children, who lead these initiatives at a grass roots level, with continued support and guidance.

Environment

We instil environmental practices across our Early Schools to minimise environmental impact, while encouraging families to support us and do likewise. Nido has implemented the following programs in our Early Schools:

Encouraging the use of recycling, reduction of single use plastic and composting, to limit impact on the environment. Some Early Schools offer vegetable gardens and tree planting.

Requiring solar generation systems to be installed on all new developments and have since completed four such installations of photovoltaic solar generation.

New Early Schools have LED and sensor lighting installed to reduce electricity consumption, as well as sustainable irrigation systems and rainwater tanks to reduce water consumption.

Governance

We are committed to adhering to the highest standards of corporate governance and ethical conduct. We have implemented policies that enhance and govern our corporate behaviour around diversity, anti-bribery, fraud, corruption and code of conduct.

Our risk mitigation and management framework is regularly reviewed, we ensure board diversity, fair compensation packages and we are completing a materiality assessment, which will help inform our ESG strategy moving forward.
