Mathew Edwards
Founder and Managing Director
Mathew founded Nido Education Limited following the privatisation of the listed Think Childcare Limited (TNK) in 2021. He has been involved in the childcare sector since 2001 and was the Founder, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Think Childcare. Mathew was responsible for overseeing the growth of Think Childcare, taking it from 30 centres at IPO to 88 Centres upon the sale of the business.
Renee Bowman
Chief Executive Officer
Renee joined Nido in May 2023 as Chief Executive Officer. Renee has a wealth of experience in both private and public companies, having held various executive positions at multi-site organisations, including Sally’s Beauty Holdings, Virgin Active and Junior Adventure Group (JAG).
Tom Herring
Chief Financial Officer
Tom joined Nido in April 2021 as Chief Financial Officer, playing an instrumental role in the delisting of Think Childcare, before supporting the establishment of Nido Education. Tom was previously the CFO of Think Childcare, responsible for managing its acquisition from Busy Bees in 2021 and prior to that, Head of Finance for the multisite organisation Coates Hire.
Tom Mitchell
Chief Technology Officer
Tom joined Nido in May 2021 as Chief Technology Officer and has played a pivotal role in setting up Nido’s infrastructure for scale and growth. Tom has overseen and managed five major system transitions to date. Tom was previously IT manager for Chanel Australia & New Zealand, Foodco Group and Civic Video.
Naomi Browne
Chief of Staff
Naomi joined Nido in August 2021 as Chief of Staff. Naomi is a multi-disciplinary leader, with diverse experience across Consumer Brands, FMCG, Healthcare and Services, and was previously the Executive Manager at EBOS Group Limited.
Amanda Mawer
New Services Director
With over 25 years’ experience in the childcare sector, Amanda previously served as General Area Manager of LEA/TNK, with responsibility for all aspects of operations management across the Early Schools. Amanda was appointed as Nido’s New Service Director in 2018, responsible for overseeing the delivery of new Early Schools into the portfolio and to date, has overseen the development of over 65 new builds.
Kylie Morris
Operations Director
Kylie joined LEA/TNK in 2010 as an Area Manager and was appointed as Operations Director at Nido in September 2022. Kylie is responsible for all aspects of Early School operations. Kylie has worked in the Early Childhood Education and Care sector for over 29 years and has held a variety of roles at Nido, including Learning and Development Manager and Quality Advisor.
Nadia Wilson-Ali
Education and Quality Director
Nadia joined Think Childcare in 2018 as Director of Education and Quality and is responsible for implementing the national curriculum across Nido. Nadia is a Board Member and Secretary of First Hike Project, a Committee Member of the Early Learning and Care Council of Australia and an education consultative committee member of Edith Cowan University.
Sophie Gawel
Marketing Director
Sophie joined Think Childcare in January 2020 as Marketing Director and is now responsible for the development of the Nido brand and marketing activities that drive family engagement and acquisitions. Sophie has a diverse background spanning media, telecommunications, energy, FMCG and SAAS. Sophie was previously the Product Marketing Director at Fairfax Media and Head of Digital at Telstra.
Megan Rowe
People Director
Megan joined Nido in April 2022 and was appointed as People Director that October. She is responsible for managing the talent and retention strategy, and employee relations across the organisation. Megan was previously the National HR Manager for Woolworths Limited, overseeing a workforce of over 13,000 people.
